Maddie's 2 Year Photo Shoot

I may have picked the worst day ever to do Maddie's 2 year pictures, due to the high humidity and triple digit temperatures. We were all sweaty and miserable, but here they are. My little stinker refuses to smile on command so any half smiles or smirks you see are the result of us dancing around behind the camera.

4th of July California Trip!

We spent some time in California for the 4th of July weekend and enjoyed the cooler weather and family time. Maddie got lots of play time with her cousin Jasmine at Flag Hill Park.

The cutest 4th of July girls ever! So festive.

And a quick update from our garden, the cherry tomatoes have beaten the odds and are producing all kinds of fruit. The strawberries have been fried by the heat along with the larger tomato plants, but those cherry tomatoes are coming right along.

Coloring with Maddie

Here is a look at the inner workings of Maddie's mind. At first glance, this video appears to simply capture an afternoon of coloring with Maddie. But once you start watching, you'll realize she really just wanted to trick her mom and roll all her crayons off the table. What a sneak. :)

Maddie & her "odda mom" Robin. That's what Maddie called Robin all weekend.

We had the most amazing Hawaiian shaved ice ever on the London Bridge. It was SO yummy! I'm not sure if it was so good because it was so hot or because it was really that good. Maddie sure loved it! She got her first taste of brainfreeze, but it didn't stop her from eating a ton of shaved ice.

Ok, I think that's all the pictures now! This week in Lake Havasu, the temperatures will be right around 120 degrees. Maybe we'll wait until September or October to go again.

Havasu Trip 2010

Last month, we got to spend a few days at the river with my family! We had so much fun hanging out with everyone and it wasn't too hot yet, so it wasn't miserable.

Here is a perfect picture of where Maddie was all weekend. In the arms of her other mother, the best replacement possible, my twinner Robin. She called her "mom" all week and reached for her from my arms. I was not offended at all, I got to hold Robin's new sweet baby Noah all week.

Maddie had a blast walking up and down the shore collecting rocks and shells and playing in the dirt.

We were getting the cousins all lined up on the couch to take a picture and Maddie couldn't get enough of Noah.

With 4 cousins aged three and under, this is the best we could get.
