I love Walgreens!

Oh man. My coupon craziness and obsession with saving money has reached a new level.

Guess how much I spent for all of this stuff at WalGreens yesterday...

-$1.19! Between coupons, Register Rewards, and rebates, WalGreens paid me $1.19 to take all of this stuff home. Wow.

I also had 2 bags of peanut M&M's ...now where did those run off to?

Maddie Milloy - Professional Crawler!

Can you believe it? Maddie will be 7 months on Monday!

Maddie had her check-up and immunizations this past week, so here are her new stats...
Weight - 15 lbs. 5.5 oz. - 25%
Length - 25.75 inches - 37%
Head - 16.75 inches around - 48%

The pediatrician says her weight is in the lower percentages because most 7 month olds are not crawling yet. She's been busy burning off all those calories! Maddie was showing off at the doctor's office - rolling over, chewing on her feet, and crawling for the pediatrician. She was so brave during her shots. As usual, I cried longer than she did. She's such a trooper! Brandon and I are always interested to see her length measurements. We wonder if she'll be short like me or tall her like her dad - or somewhere in between.

Now that Maddie is mobile and can crawl all over the house, she has discovered a new favorite spot. She loves to crawl over to the back door and look outside. Her favorite is when Darla is out there - she squeaks, squeals, & "talks" to Darla.

Maddie has become a fast crawler in the past week - this is from last night.

Some other highlights from Maddie's world... She eats all kinds of fruits and veggies now. Her absolute favorite is prunes, followed closely by butternut squash, & sweet potatoes. She is definitely not a fan of green beans. She also loves to eat rice cereal and oatmeal cereal. Just in the past couple of days, she has started her latest trick... she can get herself into a sitting position from crawling. And the most recent breaking news, Maddie's first bottom tooth has cut through!

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Maddie's first Milloy-side cousin! Jennifer is due this week and we can't wait to see little Jasmine! Maddie is so excited to have another girl to play with! Tea parties, fashion shows, & Barbies- oh, we can't wait!

She's off and crawling!

She figured it out! And she is so proud of herself! She screams with delight everytime she crawls. She's got pretty fast over the weekend and she has decided this is her new mode of transportation. She is so much fun - we love to see her little personality come out!

She has also started giving us kisses! I love Maddie kisses. She grabs the sides of your face and puts her mouth on your cheek. And then she leans back away from you and smiles. What a sweet baby we have!

Best in the Desert Race!

This weekend, we went to see the "Best in the Desert" race in Parker, Arizona. It's a 425 mile off road race for trucks, jeeps, and other dirt covered vehicles. It's a lot of fun - we went last year and loved it. You get to stand out on in the desert on the sidelines of the race and watch the trucks go by. This year, Brandon's dad, Derrick, & Gwynne drove out from California and met us there. We all had to leave in the middle of the night to be in time for the 6am starting time, but we had tons of fun.

It was really dusty from all the dirt getting kicked up from the race. Maddie got a ring of dirt around her binky - you can see it in this picture. She had a fun time! She's such a trooper. She slept the whole way there and the whole way back.

Eating pears & almost crawling!

There was a big event at our house this week... Maddie ate pears - her first real food!

Here's the before picture of my nice, clean baby.And, the after picture. After each bite, she flaps her arms in excitement. And if I don't get the spoon out of the way in time, I end up covered in food too! She thinks it's fun to eat food, but she made some bitter faces. Her attitude is, "This food is fun to eat and play with, but where is my bottle?"

Maddie has decided it is time to crawl. She rocks back and forth on her hands and knees. She can put an arm or a knee forward, but she hasn't quite figured out to do those movements together. It's only a matter of time before she is everywhere!

I was trying to take pictures of Maddie and myself, but I didn't see her facial expressions until I downloaded the pictures. This is one is my favorite. She looks like she's saying, "Knock it off. Stop taking pictures of me Mom." I have a feeling this attitude and look will resurface when she is a teenager.

Rice Cereal!

Maddie has so much fun when she eats rice cereal, we just had to make a movie and share it with everyone!

She eats rice cereal every morning and loves it. She gets to start fruits and veggies in a couple of weeks - we can't wait to see her face when she tastes all these new foods for the first time. We can't believe she's almost 6 months old already! It has been so much fun getting to know her little personality and her preferences. She has adopted a favorite "blankie", figured out how to put her binky back in her mouth, and says "Mamamamama" at the top of her lungs. We feel so blessed to be her parents - she brings so much happiness into our lives!

Shoes, Talking, Rolling Over, ZooLights, & the Exersaucer!

Little Baby Nikes! Uncle Derrick bought Maddie her first pair of Nikes before she was even born. They are still a little too big, but she loves the bright colors. I think they are more fun to chew on than to wear. Maddie has found her voice in the past couple of weeks. She likes to join the conversation when everyone else is talking. She also likes to yell over the sound of the vacuum cleaner. She hasn't quite figured out volume control yet. This particular night, she got so excited when she was talking, she gave herself hiccups and spit up!

Maddie is getting pretty fast at rolling over. She travels across the room by pivoting and rolling and she is quick!

We went to see the ZooLights at the Phoenix Zoo this past weekend. It was cold so we all bundled up and had tons of fun!

Maddie's newest toy is her Exersaucer. She feels like such a big girl standing up and spinning around in it. I love that it's pink!
